Modular seating system for B&B Italia released during Milan Design Week 2018, along with additions to Maxalto's Caratos series
Taking its name from the coral formation, B&B Atoll strikes a tone of harmony between balanced aesthetic form and assertive contemporary style. With contrasting structure and upholstery, the slender lines of the frame give shape to a dynamic ever-changing composition that oscillates creatively between elegant formality and relaxing informality. The seating system is built on three platforms that are integrated with armrest and backrest elements to compose a series of possibilities for seating: sofas, dormeuses, corner-end modules, single or modular elements with chaise longue and pouf.
“B&B Atoll is a versatile collection that reinterpret traditional elements, like the bolster, and associates them with a sleek, refined structure that fits seamlessly into contemporary design language. With its versatility, it can be used in a wide range of settings from the most formal, when partnered with the armchairs, to more informal situations, when the daybed appears as the end element of an L-shaped configuration.” – Antonio Citterio
Also released for Milan Design Week 2018, the latest additions to the Caratos series for Maxalto include chairs in two versions, armchairs, poufs and coffee tables.
